So.... Blogging.... This is quite different from anything I've ever done before. I'm obviously still learning how to do this, which, will probably take some time. I have put some thought into how I would use this with a classroom full of students. Now, because I plan on hopefully teaching special education, I've thought that this could be a way of communication for myself and the parents. It could be used for assignments, and questions pertaining to the classroom, or even homework help, and tips. This wouldn't just be limited to the parents, however. Once the students had a basic understanding of what a "Blog" was, this could be a tool for them to communicate with each other, as well as with myself. I feel that it would have to be set-up for the younger students, just because of the level of difficulty it would be. I could also use it as a tool for middle school age children. I wouldn't necessarily use it with my early childhood students, but maybe 4th grade and up. Because they're at an age where they're beginning to understand more complicated directions, it may be easier to have them make their own blog, but a more simplified version., Also, If I'm fortunate enough to work in a school district that provides some sort of technology to their students, such as a MacBook, iPod touch, or iPad, this would also aid in the use of Blogs in the classroom. So, in a nutshell, I believe that blogs are a great thing to use for classroom use. I have every intention of using them at some point in my teaching career.

I agree with you, I think blogging is a great tool to build parent-teacher relationships. Although I do not foresee using it with students directly in an elementary setting.
